"Tanks" for a Great Two Weeks

Open Period Officially Recognised As A Success
Thanks to everyone who posted a nice comment during the Sodor Island Forums Open Period to celebrate our Millionth Fansite visitor. We hope that this will reinforce the view that SiF are not who we are portrayed to be by some - villainous, slanderous, scathing and ignorant with no regard for anyone bar our own, but a friendly, peaceful community. We also hope it will show why we have the Crowning Glory of being Number 1 in the Thomas Online Community that we do, and hope to retain it for some time to come.

The Open Period was our way of saying thank you to everyone who has taken Sodor Island Fansite to the dizzying heights that it now enjoys. We did hope to keep the forum open on a more permenant basis, but sadly, that will not be the case - owing to the fact that we want to keep things as they are and give people more of a reason to join up and contribute to our community.

Same Again?
However, this isn't to say we won't be open to doing the Open Season thing again. We hope to follow it up regularly at six month intervals in order to allow for non-members and supporters to view the forum and reap the benefits. This will also be part of a membership drive to help bring more members into the forum as our first one has been such a huge success with an overwhelming response and a great deal of new sign-ups.

One Last Thing
Thanks to everyone for your good behaviour during the Open Period, although we've had one or two silly people posting rather inconsiderate and rude things, taking advantage of the Non-Members Discussion Area, the majority have been a shining example and a credit to themselves.
