The Wild Weekender

Just a brief update - very brief indeed.

Back to Our Roots
We all need to begin somewhere don't we? For the SiF UK Meetings it was at the East Lancashire Railway in Bury, just outside Manchester. Four of us (Mr Oliver, Truro, Eliot and Ryan) attended their Days Out With Thomas Event on the 5th of August 2005, and sewed the seeds of the future meetings at the National Railway Museum, The Ravenglass and Eskdale, Bluebell Railway, Keighley and Worth Valley and our epic trip through Wales!

And so it was back there again on Saturday for a day of fun and frolics on the Railway, represented by two of the original attendees from 2005 - Ryan and Truro, as well as regulars Chris The Xelent, Loey Machan, Alaric and BanchouFox. And coincidentally in attendance - the engine who had done the Cambrian Coast Express through the summer months and been part of the Talyllyn Railway whistle-fest during their once in a lifetime line-up! Truly fantastic to see her again, and truly wonderful to run behind her this time round.

But, as is the way, you must travel back in style, and our way of doing so - running back on Princess Elizabeth...! :D

Another Return
Ravenglass had made such a positive impact before, it was due another visit. This time, BanchouFox and Chris The Xelent got footplate rides, this time on Jock or as he's known in real life - Northern Rock.

As usual, we all had a fun time, with a mad dash back to Lancaster to get Fox on his train home again. After which, we all went back so the guys could be filmed for their guest appearances in a popular SiF feature. We won't say what, it'll ruin the surprise when it's FINALLY released! ;)

Place Your Breakfast Orders
For all those attending the SiF UK Meeting 2008, the five of them can surely vouch I make a stunning breakfast:

RYAN'S HEART ATTACK SPECIAL
With cooking like this on offer, it's no wonder Scotland's got the worst heart rates in Europe! Bacon, Sausages (Square and Links), Potato Cakes, Pancakes, Eggs, Beans and Toast are all part of a delicious breakfast - with drinks of choice.
HEALTHY OPTIONS
Toast, Cereal and Fruit - but that's no fun... go for the above! ;)
Next big adventure will most likely be in July at the Didcot Railway Centre. I'll see whoever's coming there! ;)
All my best,
Ryan ;)
