Let The Good Times Roll!

100,000 Posts On SiF
As if celebrating a million Fansite hits wasn't enough in 2008, we are now on-track for the end of September to reach over 100,000 posts on the forum - doubling the amount the original forum had prior to it's collapse in December 2005. This means that the new SiF will have doubled the totals quicker than the original forum did to acheive the same amount.

Sadly this time, we will not be allowing non-members in to help us celebrate the milestone, owing to the close timing of the last Open Period. It'd be too soon to hold another one, and this doesn't really merit opening up the forum as such. A quick reminder for the forum members - the 100,000th post does not carry any distinction or reward, nor does trying to push the numbers of posts up so we can get there quicker. It is however, another important milestone we have racked up.

New Members On The Increase Too
I'm also happy to announce that we seem to have increased in forum membership numbers to a greater capacity than we have done in previous years. At this time last year (August) we stood at just over 520 members, which has since ballooned to 770. We are thrilled to entertain and welcome mature new members and old ones returning from years gone by.

As my way of a Thank You for this increase and show of faith in Sodor Island Forums, I decided not to perform the August Board Sweep (3rd of the year), and officially as of 2009, make Board Sweeps on SiF once every four months as opposed to three - therefore cutting it down to three "Sweeps" a year - allowing new members more time to explore and enjoy what the forum has to offer. Despite what can only be described as turbulent and difficult times, it is heartening to know that people are still keen to sign up and join in, and for that, we're very grateful to you all.
