Age Falsification On SiF
This is turning into a real problem on the forum. Lately, we've had a crackdown on the number of people falsely claiming to be above the age of 13 years old to join up to the forum only to discover that they are indeed below the required age to legally sign up to a Proboards Forum. Instances where people are signing up with conflicting 'ages' and birthdates are very grating on staff members approving accounts and are a sure fire way of providing evidence or raising suspicion of age falsification, which will ultimately lead to the account NOT being approved.
This rule is in place as part of a law to keep children safe on the internet and protect them from predators who intend to cause them harm. While I can safely say that there is no one of that nature on SiF specifically to our knowledge, we have to honour Proboards rules and that of the law itself in order to maintain our forum's existence.
I realise there are a number of individuals below the age of 13 keen to sign up to the forum after seeing the Fansite, but we cannot allow this if we wish to keep our forum and keep within the rules that Proboards and greater authorities have laid down for us to follow.
